In addition to its festivals and concert series, Telluride offers fun seekers a healthy assortment of lively pubs and bars to choose from. The nightlife goes into high gear during the winter season's apres-ski hours and again in the summer, when thousands of bluegrass fans descend upon Telluride for its famous four-day Bluegrass Festival. Telluride's hottest apres-ski destination opened for business in 2004 at the base of both the Gondola (Telluride Station) and Chairlift #8. Enjoy an apres-ski cocktail or a round of pool at the historic New Sheridan Bar. This bar remains much as it was when it opened in 1895. The handsomely carved front bar, mahogany wall paneling, spectacular lead-glass divider panels and ornate light fixtures are among the original appointments.
